Privacy Policy
Effective: September 13, 2025
LexKY News is a static site that aggregates links and headlines from publicly available local news sources and event listings. We prioritize your privacy and collect as little information as possible.
What We Collect
- Server logs: Our Nginx server writes standard access logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security and troubleshooting. Logs rotate and are not shared.
- Minimal forms: The site offers an optional newsletter sign‑up that collects only your email to send updates. Double opt‑in is required, and every email includes an unsubscribe link. No other accounts, comments, or login.
- No analytics trackers: We do not use Google Analytics or similar third‑party tracking pixels.
Cookies
We do not set tracking cookies. Some pages may rely on basic browser storage or session state for UI behavior only (e.g., the Markdown editor). Nothing is sent to our servers from these features.
Third‑Party Content & Links
Headlines and event listings link to third‑party sites. When you click a link, you leave lexkynews.com and those sites may have their own privacy practices. Review their policies for details.
AI‑Generated Newscast
Our “Newscast” summaries are generated server‑side from public headlines. The generation process may use a third‑party AI API. We do not send any personal data with these requests—only headline text, outlets, URLs, and timestamps from public sources.
Markdown Editor
The on‑site editor at /tools/editor.html runs entirely in your browser. Drafts are not uploaded to our servers unless you copy/paste them elsewhere. The editor may fetch the latest public newscast snapshot from /api/newscast.json
for convenience.
Your Choices
- Do not submit personal information to the site; there are no forms or account features.
- Use a content blocker if you wish to further limit requests to third‑party sites.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
